BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's volleyball team defeated Penn State University-Beaver by a final score of 3-0 in a non-conference match on Joe Kurey Memorial Court at Hummel Fieldhouse.
Bethany (3-6) Leaders
- Sophomore outside hitter Isabella Poppelriter (Wellsville, Ohio) added six more service aces to her hot start behind the line and posted her first kill of the year
- Freshman setter Ava Luft (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) made her Green and White debut where she finished with six assists, two digs, and one kill
- Junior Academic All-PAC middle blocker Ashton Thomas (Toronto, Ohio) served up her first career ace in part of her five on the night and also led the team with eight kills on nine attacks
- Freshman outside hitter Mya Kochasic (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) totaled three aces, two digs, one kill, and one block assist
- Freshman middle blocker Amara Wilson (East Palestine, Ohio) notched two kills in her collegiate debut
- Sophomore setter Aleia Evanko (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) and freshman setter Sophia Marshall (Caldwell, Ohio) each put up a match-high 10 assists
- Freshman defensive specialist Annabelle Clutter (Weirton, W.Va./Steubenville) dug out three Lion attacks and had two of the Bison's 20 service aces on the night
- Freshmen middle blockers Jasmine Harris (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Madison Christian) and Haylee Stewart (New Cumberland, W.Va./Oak Glen) each put down their first two kills as Bison
- Junior Academic All-PAC right-side hitter Shayleigh Hornyak (Brilliant, Ohio/Buckeye Local) and junior outside hitter Marissa French (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) each added three kills and a block assist
- Sophomore middle blocker Adison Ketchum (Lisbon, Ohio/Beaver Local) added two kills in front of a packed Hummel Fieldhouse
- Sophomore middle blocker Kenzie Headley (East Liverpool, Ohio) and Stewart both combined on two blocks
- Freshman outside hitter Molly Brown (Lancaster, Ohio/Fairfield Union) finished with five kills, four digs, and one service ace

- Sophomore outside hitter Aubrey Pulliam led the Lion offense with three kills
- Freshman setter Lillian Derenberger and sophomore setter Jordan Moore each assisted three times and added three digs

The Bison are back in action Friday, September 18 as they travel to Delaware, Ohio to compete in the Bishop Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Bethany will take on Anderson (Ind.) University at 2:30 p.m. and Heidelberg (Ohio) University at 5 p.m. in Branch Rickey Arena.
