GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Bethany College men's soccer team fell to Thiel (Pa.) College by a final score of 2-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field.
Bethany (0-7, 0-4 PAC) Leaders
- Freshman forward Byron Santos (Kenner, La./Alfred T. Bonnabel) scored his first career goal and put the Bison up early
- Junior defender Derieck Hernandez (New Orleans, La./Kenner Discovery) notched an assist for his first point of the year and led the team with six shots
- Sophomore Academic All-PAC forward Fedgy Fertil (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum Senior) added four shots for the Bison offense
- Freshman goalkeeper Carlos Monque (Miami, Fla./Archbishop Coleman Carroll) faced 12 shots on goal and made a career-high nine saves
Thiel (4-4-1, 1-1-1 PAC) Leaders
- Junior forward Mitchell Strauss made four saves in goal recorded three points for the Tomcats with a goal and an assist
- Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Budziak made four saves in goal
- Sophomore forward Rylan Piccirilli got in on the scoring with another Thiel goal

- 0:45 - The Green and White wasted no time getting on the board as Hernandez helped Santos find the bottom right corner of the net
Second Half (Thiel 2-1)
- 72:15 - Strauss scored the equalizer with a rocket of a free kick
- 83:01 - A Strauss pass led Piccirilli to score the game-winner in the game's final minutes
The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, September 29 as they host a non-conference game against Mount Aloysius (Pa.) College at 6:30 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
