James Coleman

James Coleman enters his first season as the Head Swimming & Diving Coach at Bethany College in 2026.

Coleman joins Bethany after serving as tight ends coach at Seton Hill University for the past two seasons. In addition to leading the Bison swimming and diving program, he will continue serving on the Bethany football coaching staff, bringing a diverse coaching background and a passion for developing student-athletes both in competition and in the classroom.

Prior to Seton Hill, Coleman spent four years coaching at the high school level with Northgate High School and Peters Township High School, where he built strong relationships with student-athletes while helping develop successful programs. He began his collegiate coaching career in 2019 as a student assistant at his alma mater, Duquesne University.

As a student-athlete at Duquesne, Coleman played on both the offensive and defensive lines, appearing in seven games while contributing to three Northeast Conference championship teams. Prior to his collegiate career, he was a two-time All-American two-way lineman at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, New York.

Since joining the program, Coleman has already helped generate significant momentum, doubling the size of Bethany's swimming and diving roster from last season. With a growing roster and renewed enthusiasm, the Bison are expected to compete with a full team at this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships as Coleman begins his first season as head coach.
