Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bison Men's Soccer Wavers at Waynesburg

Oct. 14 – WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Bethany College men's soccer team fell to Waynesburg University, 3-1, on Tuesday evening.

The Yellow Jackets got the action started, as Victor Browne scored just two minutes into the contest to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Bethany would respond, however, as freshman William Noble (Pittsburgh, Pa./Springdale) found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 in the 5th minute.

The contest would remain deadlocked heading into intermission.

The second half saw both teams continue to play great defense until the 66th minute, as the hosts reclaimed the lead (2-1) on a header from Josh Hennigh.

Just five minutes later, Browne would score his second goal to give Waynesburg a 3-1 lead.

Bethany would be unable to muster a comeback as they fell by the same count.

Bethany's offense was led by Noble and freshman Ryan Power (Sydney, Australia/Lisarow). Noble scored his first goal of the season, while Power logged a shot.

Freshman goalkeeper Richard Martinez (Miami, Fla./Southdade Senior) played all 90 minutes, registering eight saves on 25 Yellow Jacket shots.

The Bison will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 as they travel to Thiel College. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
