Sept. 6 – CRESSON, Pa. – The Bethany College men's soccer team suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Mount Aloysius on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts took a 2-0 lead entering intermission.
The Bison trailed 4-0, until the 76th minute when sophomore Emmet Dwyer (Tipperary, Ireland/Borrisokane Community College) scored his first goal of the season.
The Bethany offense was led by Dwyer and freshman Alex Hannah (Weirton, W.Va./Weir). Dwyer scored the lone goal, while Hannah tallied a tema-high four shots.
Sophomore goalkeeper Callum Appleby (Maidstone, United Kingdom/Maidstone Grammar School) notched seven saves.
The Bison will be back on the pitch on Sept. 13, as they travel to Pitt-Greensburg for a non-conference battle. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
