BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 25) - The Bethany College women's soccer team was defeated 7-0 by Washington & Jefferson Wednesday afternoon in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Hoag Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening 19 minutes of the match, with both teams attempting shots that did not find the mark.
- The Presidents notched the game's first goal when W&J's Ashton Grimm collected the ball inside the box off of a corner kick and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 1-0 in the 20th-minute.
- W&J added two more goals before the first-half horn sounded to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
- The Presidents' continued to add to their lead with four second-half goals, including a penalty-kick goal in the 85th-minute to collect the multi-goal win.
MATCH NOTES
- Bethany was out-shot 34-to-1 in the match, with W&J taking all eight of the game's corner kicks.
- Despite the rainy and cold conditions, the match was played with a degree of physicality. Bethany was whistled for nine fouls, compared to the 15 charged to W&J.
