Football Drops PAC Contest to Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Bethany College football team fell to Geneva (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game by a final score of 75-28 on at Reeves Field.

Bethany (0-7, 0-5 PAC) Leaders

  • Junior All-PAC quarterback Brett Phillips (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) tied a career-high four passing touchdowns and completed 26 of his 42 passes for 296 yards through the air
  • Sophomore receiver Mykel Davis (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) had six catches for a career-high 103 yards while also scoring his first career touchdown 
  • Sophomore receiver Jacob Burns (Charleston, W.Va./Herbert Hoover) scored two of the Bison's four touchdowns and had five receptions for 51 yards
  • Freshman defensive back Nickolas Rispa (Homestead, Fla./South Dade) made a career-high seven tackles including six solos
  • Senior All-PAC defensive end Amarion Williams (Miami, Fla./South Dade) had 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble while sophomore defensive back Blaike Adams (Parsons, W.Va./Tucker County) recorded a pick and one pass breakup
Geneva (5-3, 5-1 PAC) Leaders
  • Junior quarterback Caleb Romano threw for 475 yards after going 33-for-43 with six touchdown passes 
  • Senior receiver Keaton Baker had 12 receptions with two touchdowns for a total of 219 yards
  • Senior linebacker Reed Gordon had a game-high 11 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and one sack
First Quarter (Geneva 21-7)
  • 1:04 - Phillips connected with Burns to put the Bison on the board to cap off a 10-play drive (Sophomore kicker Caden Langley (Wellsburg, W.Va./Brooke) kick good)
Second Quarter (Geneva 44-21)
  • 3:06 - Davis cut into the Golden Tornadoes' lead with a touchdown pass from Phillips (Langley kick good)
  • 0:37 - Burns found the endzone again to score just before the half (Langley kick good)
Fourth Quarter (Geneva 75-28)
  • 0:02 - Freshman receiver Antonio Salisbury (Clinton, Md./Surrattsville) ended the game with an 18-yard touchdown pass for his first career touchdown  (Langley kick good)
The Bison are back in action Saturday, November 1 as they host Senior Day and a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Waynesburg (Pa.) University at 1 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
