BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's soccer team fell to Chatham (Pa.) University by a final score of 3-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup and the Kick For the Cure Pink-Out game at Hoag Field.
Bethany (1-8, 0-4 PAC) celebrated their Kick For the Cure Pink-Out Game in partnership with the Theta Chapter of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity to raise awareness for the Think Pink campaign that supports all victims of breast cancer. The Bison struck early, and by halftime held a tie with Chatham by a score of 1-1. In the second half, Chatham (6-3-2, 3-1 PAC) maintained control, converting additional opportunities and limiting Bethany's chances. The Bison struggled to get sustained possession or consistent attacks.

- Senior All-PAC forward Monica Bird (McKinnon, Antigua/St. Anthony's Secondary School) made the first score of the game.
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward Jordan Palmer (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) eased her way through defense with five shots
- Senior midfielder Shunnye Christopher (Bathlodge, Antigua/Christ The King) took two shots
- Senior Academic All-PAC forward Lauren Cooper (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had the assist on the goal as well as taking one shot on goal
- Senior goalkeeper Gabby Hicks (Chinchilla, Australia) in total made six saves in her first collegiate game in goal

- Hailie Marsalis - scored two of the three goals this game
- Elizabeth Gallup - made one of the three scores on the day
- Kyanni Escudero - made seven saves in today's matchup
First Half (Tied 1-1)
- 16:51 - Bird got the scoring started with an assist from Cooper
- 29:29 - Marsalis scored with the assist by her teammate Sarah Vecio
Second Half (Chatham 3-1)
- 55:11 - Chatham midfielder Elizabeth Gallup made a goal with no assist
- 76:43 - Marsalis makes a score once again leading Chatham to three goals
The Bison are back in action on October 8 as they travel to Steubenville, Ohio for a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Health System Field.
