STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The Bethany College women's soccer team fell to the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) by a final score of 3-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Trinity Health System Field.
Bethany (1-9, 0-5 PAC) Leaders
- Senior forward Grace Schweickert (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) only needed one shot to score her first goal of the season and the fourth of her career
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward Jordan Palmer (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) took a game-high three shots on goal
- Senior goalkeeper Gabby Hicks (Chinchilla, Australia) posted six saves in her second straight game in goal
Franciscan (3-6-2, 2-1-2 PAC) Leaders
- Sophomore defender Catherine DeWolf scored two goals on two shots
- Senior forward Brenna Pereira also took two shots and scored a goal
- Freshman goalkeeper Callie Giguere made four saves for the Barons

- 41:13 - DeWolf scored the only goal of the half ot put the Barons on top
Second Half (Franciscan 3-1)
- 58:09 - DeWolf made it a multi-goal game off an assist from a teammate
- 59:23 - Pereira scored unassisted for a Franciscan insurance goal
- 81:09 - A Bison corner set up a blocked shot, but Schweickert played it off the deflection and found the top left corner of the net
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, October 11 as they host Senior Day and a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup against Geneva (Pa.) College at 12 p.m. at Hoag Field.
