WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Whitman (Wash.) College by a final score of 89-84 in a non-conference inside the Sherwood Athletic Center.
Bethany (0-3) Leaders
- Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) posted a season-high 16 points and led the team in both assists with six and in steals with two
- Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) scored a game-high 23 points on 9-for-14 shooting while also posting a game-high four blocks and four rebounds
- Graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) had a team-high seven rebounds with 11 points
- Sophomore guard Bryson Bishops (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) recorded nine points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal
- Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) finished with his third straight game in double figures after scoring 15 points
Whitman (2-0) Leaders
- Senior guard Ali Efe Isik led all players with 21 points and eight assists
- Sophomore guard Milos Sarenac grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds
- Sophomore forward Jacob Fotu scored 18 points
First Half (Whitman 39-36)
- Hixson owned the glass with six boards including five defensively
- The Blues got out to a 28-18 lead, but the Green and White were able to go on a 18-11 run into the half
Second Half (Whitman 89-84)
- Jackson scored 14 of his 23 points
- Rose and Jackson each drilled two of the Bison's seven threes while the Blues only converted three shots beyond the arc
The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, November 18 as they travel to Tacoma, Washington to take on the University of Puget Sound (Wash.) in a non-conference game at 10 p.m. in Memorial Fieldhouse.
