Men's Basketball Drops Exhibition Game to Bowling Green in 2025-26 Season Opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bethany College men's basketball team opened the 2025-26 season as they fell to Bowling Green (Ohio) State University by a final score of 120-65 in an exhibition game inside the Stroh Center.

Bethany took on National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Bowling Green (2-0) in their first game of the year where the Bison came out swinging and eventually took a 18-12 lead over the Falcons: their largest of the day. However, Bowling Green went on a 44-16 run to close the half and never looked back. The first real test for the Green and White will come this weekend as the team opens the regular season on the road against Kenyon.

Bethany Leaders
  • Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) scored a team-high 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals
  • Graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) finished with a stat line of 13 points including three threes, three rebounds, and three assists
  • Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) led the team in steals with four and added seven points, two rebounds, and two assists in his first game as a Bison 
  • Freshman guard Jaden Stewart (Pikeville, Ky./Pike County Central) scored eight points off the bench including going 2-for-3 from deep
  • Sophomore forward Josh Coffield (Akron, Ohio/Lake) led the Bison on the glass with five rebounds and added two assists
  • Sophomore guard Bryson Bishop (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) tallied five points and three rebounds
Bowling Green Leaders
  • Senior guard Javontae Campbell scored a game-high 24 points and had five steals for the Falcons
  • Senior guard Justin-Thomas grabbed a team-high six rebounds and tallied four assists to lead the team
  • Senior forward Sam Towns added 14 points and four rebounds
First Half (BGSU 56-34)
  • The Bison won the tip and Reasbeck wasted no time getting the scoring started with a wide open three
  • Bethany got out to an early 18-12 lead thanks to a couple triples from Reasbeck, Hixson, and Rose
  • The Green and White shot a solid 41.2% beyond the arch to the Falcon's ice cold 8.3%
  • Rose tallied three of Bethany's six steals
Second Half (BGSU 120-65)
  • Reasbeck scored 10 of his 16 points on the night
  • Sophomore guard Koen Sartin (Princeton, W.Va.) scored five points
  • Bishop and Reasbeck each grabbed two defensive boards for the Bison
  • The Green and White improved on the glass in the second period with 20 rebounds
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, November 8 as they travel to Gambier, Ohio to take on Kenyon (Ohio) College in the regular season opener at 3 p.m. in Tomsich Arena.
