BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Saint Vincent (Pa.) College by a final score of 93-75 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
Bethany (3-6, 0-1 PAC) Leaders
- Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) fueled the Bison offense with a season-high 26 points on 11-for-17 shooting including 75% from three
- Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) fell one rebound short of a double-double with 22 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks
- Sophomore guard Bryson Bishop (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) also tallied nine boards and led the team with three assists
- Graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) scored 10 and recorded two steals, two rebounds, an assist and a block
- Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) added eight rebounds and tied a team-best two steals
Saint Vincent (5-3, 2-0 PAC) Leaders
- Senior forward Jaden Gales led all players with 27 points and 10 rebounds
- Senior guard Dev Ostrowski scored 14 points after 4-for-5 shooting from deep while adding a game-high four steals
- Junior guard Maxwell Gordon tallied a team-high eight assists
First Half (Saint Vincent 53-43)
- Jackson led the Bison to a hot 10-3 start with seven points
- Bishop grabbed five of his nine rebounds as Bethany owned the Bearcats on the glass by a 21-17 margin
- Rose scored 14 of his points on the day
Second Half (Saint Vincent 93-75)
- Gales scored 15 of Saint Vincent's 40 points in the half
- The Bison defense came up with four blocks: Hixson, Reasbeck, freshman Jaden Stewart (Pikeville, Ky./Pikeville County Central), and TJ Jenkins (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) each swatted a Bearcat shot attempt
The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, December 16 as they host Chatham (Pa.) University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup at 3 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
