ERIE, Pa. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Mercyhurst (Pa.) University by a final score of 80-51 in an exhibition game on Owen McCormick Court at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
Bethany (2-5) Leaders
- Freshman Jaden Stewart (Pikeville, Ky./Pikeville County Central) led the team in points with 11 on 5-for-10 shooting, in rebounds with sixth, and in blocks with three
- Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) finished with nine points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal
- Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) and freshman guard Alex Katsikas (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) each scored nine points and recorded a rebound and an assist
Mercyhurst (4-6) Leaders
- Graduate guard Bernie Blunt shot 4-for-7 from deep on his way to a game-high 23 points with four assists
- Sophomore forward Mykolaus Ivanauskas tied a game-high six rebounds with nine points
- Senior guard Christian Gamble tallied five assists to lead the Lakers
First Half (Mercyhurst 45-22)
- Stewart's nine-point and five rebounds powered the Bison's 22-point first half
Second Half (Mercyhurst 80-51)
- 18 of the Bison's 29 points came from deep as Bethany shot 6-for-14 as a team
- The Green and White defense forced seven Mercyhurst turnovers
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, December 10 as they travel to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to take on Juniata (Pa.) College at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gymnasium.
