BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's soccer team was defeated by Kenyon (Ohio) College by a final score of 2-0 in the 2025 season opener and a non-conference game at Hoag Field.
Bethany (0-1) Leaders
- Senior All-PAC goalkeeper Hope Fair (Dunnville, Ontario/Lakeshore Catholic) tallied nine saves after facing 11 shots on goal
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward/midfielder Jordan Palmer (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) led the team with two shots including the lone Bison shot on goal
- Senior midfielder Shunnye Christopher (Bathlodge, Antigua/Christ the King) set up for a shot just in front of goal but it sailed wide right
Kenyon (1-0) Leaders
- Sophomore defender Addilyn Tober took only two shots but notched the team's first goal
- Freshman forward/midfielder Addison Szollosi took four shots and scored a late goal
- Sophomore forwards Claire Pruner and Emily Copeland each took a team-high seven shots
First Half (Kenyon 1-0)
- 29:24 - Szollosi hit the top right corner of the net for the Owls' game-winning goal
Second Half (Kenyon 2-0)
- 88:52 - Tober poked one past a diving Fair for an insurance goal just before the end of regulation
The Bison are back in action on Friday, September 5 as they travel to Altoona, Pennsylvania for a non-conference match against Penn State University-Altoona at 3 p.m. at Spring Run Stadium.
