BETHANY, W.Va. - Bethany College President Dr. Jamie Caridi has announced that
Jen Windmiller '23 has been named Bethany's newest Director of Athletics effective immediately.
After serving as the Interim Director of Athletics over the past eight months,
Windmiller leads Bethany Athletics into a new chapter by providing plenty of administrative and leadership experience. During her interim tenure, she has led with vision and integrity—enhancing academic support for student-athletes, strengthening our commitment to NCAA compliance, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts across the department.
Windmiller will now officially lead the Bison athletic department and its 23 varsity sports programs.
Windmiller first arrived at Bethany in the fall of 2021 where she was named the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and quickly assumed the role of Assistant Director of Athletics for Academics and Compliance as well as Senior Woman Administrator in 2022. As an administrator, she helped pave the way to the College's highest student-athlete grade point average post-COVID-19 pandemic, has elevated Bethany's observance of NCAA Division III DEI Week, and has nominated countless Bison student-athletes for NCAA programs and scholarships including the annual NCAA Career in Sports Forum.
As Assistant Coach for the Bison,
Windmiller helped lead the Green and White to a 15-11 record and a President's Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal appearance. Prior to her time Bethany, she served as the Associate Head Women's Basketball Coach at Augustana (Ill.) College from 2015 to 2021 where she helped lead her alma mater to four College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournaments, and also served as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Blackburn (Ill.) College from 2011-15.
Windmiller is a graduate of Augustana where she received a bachelor's degree in biology/pre-medicine in 2008 and earned her master's degree from Bethany in 2023.
