KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Bethany College football team fell to Kalamazoo (Mich.) College in a non-conference game by a final score of 50-7 at Angell Field.
Bethany (0-2) Leaders
- Sophomore receiver Jermain Beersingh (Miami, Fla./Hialeah Senior) scored his first career touchdown on a 91-yard kickoff return
- Junior quarterback Trent Huffman (West Union, W.Va./Doddridge County) got his first start under center for the Bison and completed seven of his 14 passes for 46 yards
- Sophomore running back Richard Buchannon (East Cleveland, Ohio/Euclid) led the Bison run game with 27 yards on four attempts
- Sophomore receiver Jacob Burns (Charleston, W.Va./Herbert Hoover) led the Green and White with 17 receiving yards and junior receiver Jkobe Jones (Seffner, Fla./Seffner Christian) recorded a team-high three receptions
- Junior linebacker Cam Bailey (Huntington, W.Va./Spring Valley) led the Bison defense with nine total tackles including eight solos while All-PAC defensive end Amarion Williams (Miami, Fla./South Dade) and Charlie DiSaia (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) each added seven tackles
Sewanee (2-0) Leaders
- Senior quarterback Dawson Skupin went 22-for-27 for 382 yards and five touchdowns in the air and one rushing touchdown
- Senior receiver Lucas Hanifan had 164 yards receiving with two touchdowns
- Senior linebacker Tommy Kartes and junior defensive lineman Nolan Jannega each had a team-high six tackles
First Quarter (Kalamazoo 10-0)
- 11:18 - Hanifan put the Hornets on the board first with a 23-yard reception from Skupin (Sophomore placekicker Eddie Langton kick good)
- 3:35 - Langton nailed a 24-yard field goal to extend the Kalamazoo lead
Second Quarter (Kalamazoo 43-7)
- 1:52 - Beersingh fielded a kick at the Bison nine yard line and took it to the house for the Bethany score (Sophomore placekicker Caden Langley (Wellsburg, W.Va./Brooke) kick good)
- 0:19 - Hanifan capped off a 33-point frame for Kalamazoo with his second receiving touchdown of the day (Langton kick good)

- 11:41 - Junior receiver Josh Anderson extended the Hornet lead with a 21-yard touchdown reception (Langton kick good)
