Women's Volleyball Sweeps W&J in Home Opener to Begin Conference Play

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's volleyball team defeated Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College by a final score of 3-0 to open the Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule at Joe Kurey Memorial Court at Hummel Fieldhouse.

Bethany (3-6, 1-0 PAC) opened the conference portion of the schedule in the team's first game in front of the home crowd this season. Washington & Jefferson (5-7, 0-1 PAC) came ready to play in each set, but the Green and White was able to put the Presidents away in straight sets to earn their first PAC win of the 2025 campaign.

Bethany Leaders

  • Senior Academic All-PAC libero Andie Clark (Columbus, Ind./Hauser) was the first of four Bison to reach double-figures in digs and finished with 15
  • Junior outside hitter Madi Donelson (Lanham, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) led the team in aces with two and added eight digs
  • Senior Academic All-PAC middle blocker Averie Braymer (Saegertown, Pa.) led the offense once again with 13 kills
  • Freshman setter Grace Padavick (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) recorded her fourth double-double in the last five games with 25 assists and 10 digs
  • Sophomore middle blocker Ashton Thomas (Toronto, Ohio) freshman outside hitter Isabella Poppelriter (Wellsville, Ohio) each added seven kills for the Bison
  • Senior outside hitter JaSona Belyeu (McKeesport, Pa.) was the fourth Bison to reach 10 digs on the night
  • Thomas led the team in blocks with two block solos
  • Poppelriter added 12 digs to her stat line on the night
Washington & Jefferson Leaders
  • Senior outside hitter Faith Fetsko led the President offense with 10 kills and added nine digs
  • Junior setter Brielle Moorhouse tallied a game-high 21 digs
  • Senior libero Piper McFarland matched Padavick's game-high assists total with 25
