Women's Volleyball Takes Down La Roche

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bethany College women's volleyball team defeated La Roche (Pa.) University in a non-conference match by a final score of 3-1 on Scott Lang Court. 

Bethany (2-2) Leaders

  • Freshman outside hitter Isabella Poppelriter (Wellsville, Ohio) finished with a statline of 11 digs, a team-high five aces, two blocks, two kills, and an assist
  • Senior Academic All-PAC libero Andie Clark (Columbus, Ind./Hauser) tied a game-high 27 digs while being one of three Bison to earn three aces on the night
  • Senior Academic All-PAC middle blocker Averie Braymer (Saegertown, Pa.) racked up 13 kills while hitting .355 on 31 attempts and added three aces
  • Freshman setter Grace Padavick (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) assisted 14 times and added three digs, three kills, and two aces
  • Senior Academic All-PAC outside hitter Lesley Sanchez (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) finished with seven digs, five kills, and an ace
  • Junior Academic All-PAC setter Emma Egan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle) served up her first two career aces and added 11 assists
  • Freshman middle blocker Analesa Perdue (Steubenville, Ohio) notched six kills in her second straight match and recorded her first career solo block

  • Freshman setter Estelle Winck led all players with 31 assists against her former team
  • Senior middle hitter Kalli Grine led the Redhawks in points with 11 kills, two block solos, and an ace
  • Freshman libero Kaci DePalma tallied a team-high 27 digs

The Bison are back in action on Friday, September 12 as they travel to Schenectady, New York to compete in the Crosstown Challenge hosted by Union (N.Y.) College in the Viniar Athletic Center. Bethany opens the Challenge on Friday as they take on Oswego State University of New York at 6 p.m. and then against the host Union at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the Bison will close the Challenge by taking on SUNY-Oneonta at 12 p.m. and Russell Sage (N.Y.) College at 2 p.m.
