Men's Soccer Ties With Saint Vincent

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's soccer team tied Saint Vincent (Pa.) College by a final score of 1-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Hoag Field.

Bethany (1-5-3, 0-2-1 PAC) Leaders

  • Junior goalkeeper Adam Imhulse (Cincinnati, Ohio/Finneytown) recorded a career-high seven saves with the lone goal allowed coming off of a deflection from an incredible diving save on a fastbreak
  • Junior forward Santiago Waites (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain) scored the equalizer for the Bison and tallied a team-high three shots
  • Freshman Academic All-PAC forward Alessio De Pippo (Conroe, Texas/The Woodlands College Park) posted his team-leading third assist of the season and took one shot
  • The Bison defense led by senior Nahuel Vivas (Salta, Argentina/Colegio Parroquial San Alfonso), senior Jaheem Sheppard (Sea View Farm, Antigua/Antigua Grammar School), freshman Lane Ladner (Coppell, Texas), and freshman Luke DiNovo (Steubenville, Ohio) held strong and allowed only one goal despite facing 17 shots and nine Bearcat corners
Saint Vincent (7-2-2, 1-1-1 PAC) Leaders
  • Junior forward Oziel Bonola-Soriano took two shots on goal with one of them resulting in Saint Vincent's lone goal
  • Senior goalkeeper Kameron Rock tied a game-high seven saves
  • Freshman forward Daniel Maddock led all players with six shots including three on goal

First Half (Tied 0-0)

  • Imhulse notched four of his saves while Rock added three
  • The Bearcats outshot the Bison 10-7
Second Half (Tied 1-1)
  • 49:32 - Imhulse made a diving save to perserve the shutout but an unlucky deflection fell right into the hands of Bonola-Soriano for the score
  • 72:24 - Waites found the bottom left corner of the net for his second goal of the season thanks to a pass from De Pippo
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, October 4 as they host a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup against Chatham (Pa.) University at 2 p.m. at Hoag Field.
