Football Drops Season Opener to Sewanee, Honors 1975 PAC Championship Team

BETHANY, W.Va - The Bethany College football team opened the 2025 season as they fell to Sewanee (Tenn.), The University of the South, in a non-conference game by a final score of 41-6 and celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the 1975 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Team on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.

The 2025 football season marks the 50th anniversary of Bethany's 1975 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Team. Under the leadership of Hall of Fame head coach Don Ault, the 1975 Bison secured the school's third PAC Championship and the first of Coach Ault's legendary career. The Green and White finished with an overall record of 5-4 and a 5-1 conference record including clinching the outright championship over Washington & Jefferson in the final game of the season by a final score of 24-13.
