HIRAM, Ohio - The Bethany College women's basketball team defeated Hiram (Ohio) College by a final score of 75-57 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game in Price Gymnasium.
Bethany (7-6, 2-2 PAC) Leaders
- Graduate All-PAC guard Lindsey Garrison (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) shot 8-for-13 from the field including 44% from deep on her way to a game-high 21 points while also securing two steals
- Freshman guard Lindsey Best (Rayland, Ohio/Martins Ferry) continued her big week with a 13-point game with eight rebounds and six assists making a case for yet another PAC Newcomer of the Week Award
- Sophomore guard Jewel Hardison (Baltimore, Md./New Town) had a career day after scoring a career-high nine points and corralling a career-high three rebounds
- Sophomore guard Ella Simpson (Morgantown, W.Va./University) also reached double-figures with 14 points with four rebounds
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward Kate Botti (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) assisted a game-high seven times while registering five rebounds and three blocks
- Senior Academic All-PAC forward Kaedlee Potter (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) added eight poionts, five rebounds, and three assists
Hiram (5-8, 2-2 PAC) Leaders
- Sophomore forward Maya Joiner finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, two steals, and an assist
- Sophomore guard Isablla Caceres also scored 12 points with four rebounds
- Senior guard Advika Srinivasan tied a team-high 12 points with three three-pointers
First Quarter (Bethany 18-11)
- Garrison accounted for half of the Bison's points after making three of her four shots from the floor
- Bethany shot 46.7% from the floor while Hiram's offense only converted on three of their 14 shots
Second Quarter (Bethany 35-26)
- Best recorded three of her eight rebounds and collected two assists
- The Bison led for the entire quarter including taking a 12-point lead with six minutes left in the half
Third Quarter (Bethany 62-43)
- Hardison scored seven of her nine points in part of the Green and White's 27-point quarter
- Seven different Bison grabbed a rebound as Bethany owned the glass by a 11-7 margin
Fourth Quarter (Bethany 75-57)
- Botti swatted two Terrier shots
- The Bethany bench scored 10 of the team's 13 points in the period
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, January 14 as they travel to Steubenville, Ohio to take on the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) at 4 p.m. in Finnegan Fieldhouse.
