BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's basketball team defeated Thiel (Pa.) College by a final score of 82-56 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game and one of the PAC Sports Network's Games of the Week on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
Bethany (9-6, 4-2 PAC) Leaders
- Freshman guard and PAC Newcomer of the Week Lindsey Best (Rayland, Ohio/Martins Ferry) led all players with a career-high 18 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the floor while also coraling a game-high five steals and five rebounds to all but lock up yet another weekly honor
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward Kate Botti (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) grabbed a team-high eight boards while also tallying 11 points, four assists, and three steals
- Junior Academic All-PAC forward Josie Stone (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) led the team with two blocks and finished with four reboundsÂ
- Sophomore guard Ella Simpson (Morgantown, W.Va./University) continues to dominate with a 15-point game that included four assists and two steals
- Graduate All-PAC guard Lindsey Garrison (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) tied a game-high four assists and added nine points and two rebounds
- Senior Academic All-PAC forward Kaedlee Potter (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) and sophomore guard Amaria Jones (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) each added eight points for the Bison offense
Thiel (5-10, 0-6 PAC) Leaders
- Freshman forward Emily Betsinger led the team in points with 16 and in rebounds with eight
- Sophomore guard Issy Green finished with a team-high four assists
- Sophomore forward Kayley Risser added 14 points for the Tomcats
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, January 21 as they travel to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to take on Waynesburg (Pa.) University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 7 p.m. in Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
