WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Bethany College women's basketball team defeated Waynesburg (Pa.) University by a final score of 82-71 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game and the PAC Sports Network's Game of the Week as junior Academic All-PAC forward
Kate Botti (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) recorded her 500th career rebound in Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
Botti corralled a game-high 15 boards including the 500th of her career as she was named the PAC Sports Network Player of the Game. She reached the milestone in just her 67th career game and now has a lifetime average of 7.54 rebounds per contest.
Bethany (10-6, 5-2 PAC) Leaders
- Graduate All-PAC guard Lindsey Garrison (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) helped lead the Bison offense with 14 points as she moves into fifth-place among Bethany's all-time scoring leaderboard with 1,464 points while adding two steals defensively
- Sophomore guard Ella Simpson (Morgantown, W.Va./University) scored a career-high 18 points on 8-for-13 shooting while also grabbing seven rebounds
- Senior Academic All-PAC forward Kaedlee Potter (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) led all players with six assists, tied a team-high two steals, and added 13 points and seven rebounds
- Botti also swatted a career-high six shots to fall one short of the program record and scored nine points
- Sophomore Academic All-PAC guard Addy Blazer (Hanoverton, Ohio/Beaver Local) scored 13 points in her first game back from injury after converting on six of her eight shots
- Freshman guard and PAC Newcomer of the Week Lindsey Best (Rayland, Ohio/Martins Ferry) finished just one rebound shy of her first double-double after tallying 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals
Waynesburg (6-10, 2-5 PAC) Leaders
- Senior guard Kalista Friday scored a game-high 22 points and added four steals to lead the Yellow Jackets
- Junior forward Julz Mohrbacher finished with a game-high nine rebounds with five points, three assists, three steals, and one block
- Junior guard Mia Henkins contributed 16 points to the Waynesburg offense
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, January 24 as they travel to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to take on Geneva (Pa.) College at 1:30 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse.
