Men's Basketball Falls Short Against Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Saint Vincent (Pa.) College by a final score of 90-83 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game in the Robert S. Carey Center.

Bethany (7-9, 3-4 PAC) Leaders
  • Graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) scored 21 points after a 20-point second half where he shot a team-best 7-for-13 from the floor
  • Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) scored 17 first-half points that included five threes while adding three rebounds, two assists, and two steals
  • Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) made it three straight games with 20+ points as he scored 22 while grabbing four rebounds and making three assists
  • Senior guard TJ Jenkins (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) led all players with a season-high nine rebounds, five of them being offensive boards, and added a team-best six assists
  • Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) and freshman guard Jaden Stewart (Pikeville, Ky./Pike County Central) each recorded seven points and four rebounds
Saint Vincent (8-9, 5-3 PAC) Leaders
  • Graduate forward Jevontae Jones finished with 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds
  • Junior guard Maxwell Gordon assisted a team-best eight times
  • Senior forward Jaden Gales led the Bearcats with 20 points
First Half (Saint Vincent 46-41)
  • The Bison sank six of their eight shots at the charity stripe as Saint Vincent shot only 33% at the line
  • Reasbeck shot 66% from the floor drilling five threes for all 17 of his points while Rose added 12 points
  • Bethany had an impressive seven offensive rebounds in part of their 15-rebound first half
Second Half (Saint Vincent 90-83)
  • Hixson shot 58% in the half to score 20 points including the bucket to give the Bison their last lead of the day with four minutes remaining
  • Jenkins brought in six of his nine rebounds on the night and tallied three more assists
  • The Bison defense forced seven turnovers with four steals leading to five points in transition
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, January 31 as they host Allegheny (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 3 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
