Men's Basketball Overpowers Allegheny in PAC Matchup

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's basketball team defeated Allegheny (Pa.) College by a final score of 85-73 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.

Prior to the game, Bethany (8-11, 4-6 PAC) recognized graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) and senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) for each reaching 1,000 points in their careers earlier this season. The Bison overwhelmed Allegheny (7-12, 5-5 PAC) right out of the gate, but the Gators continued to fight back until Bethany went on a late 10-2 run to keep the Bison in the hunt for a spot in the PAC Tournament.

Bethany Leaders
  • Rose scored a game-high 24 points while notching a team-best four assists, one block, and one steal
  • Hixson finished with 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal
  • Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) dropped 17 points on 57% shooting with seven rebounds and two steals
  • Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) had a big all-around game with 14 points, five rebounds, five assists, and tied a team-high three steals
  • Senior guard TJ Jenkins (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) posted a game-high nine boards with four points, four assists, and tied a team-best three steals
  • Freshman guard Semaj Marshall (Washington, D.C./Parkside) added six points along with two steals and a rebound
Allegheny Leaders
  • Junior guard Jayson Perry scored 22 to lead the Gator offense
  • Senior guard Ryan Lang led the team in assists with seven and in rebounds with six and also scored 16 points
  • Freshman forward Max Wallace added 17 points and four rebounds
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, February 4 as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on Chatham (Pa.) University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 7 p.m. in the Athletic and Fitness Center.
