Men's Basketball Falls to W&J in Road Finale

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College by a final score of 99-82 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game in Salvitti Family Gymnasium.

Bethany (10-14, 6-9 PAC) Leaders
  • Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) had a massive second half to propel him to a game-high 23 points as he shot 52.9% from the field and tied a team-high two assists
  • Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) finished in double-figures for the 22nd time this season with 18 points and led the team in blocks with three, in steals with three, and in assists with two
  • Senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) notched eight points, four rebounds, and two steals
  • Freshman guard Semaj Marshall (Washington, D.C./Parkside) finished with eight points, two assists, two steals, and a rebound
  • Senior forward Alex Andrews (Ocoee, Fla.) led all players with 11 rebounds and added eight points
  • Freshman guard Jaden Stewart (Pikeville, Ky./Pikeville County Central) recorded seven first-half points
W&J (18-6, 11-4 PAC) Leaders
  • Senior guard Matt Seidl led the Presidents with 19 points including a perfect 9-for-9 at the charity stripe
  • Junior forward Nathan Plotner added 10 points and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds
  • Junior guard Matthew Carte assisted six times and scored 17 points
First Half (W&J 53-33)
  • Stewart scored all seven of his points to lead the Bison in the period
  • Andrews corralled nine of his 11 rebounds in part of the team's 15 boards
Second Half (W&J 99-82)
  • Rose led the Bison offense with 17 points
  • Graduate guard Joe Bruggeman (Elkhorn, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) connected on his first career three with three minutes left to play and finished with five points
  • The Bison defense forced six turnovers with four steals
  • Bethany and W&J both shot 48% from the floor, but the Green and White put up more shots with 19 made field goals
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, February 21 as they host the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) on Senior Day and a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 3 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
