PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bethany College men's volleyball team defeated Carlow (Pa.) University by a final score of 3-2 in a non-conference match in St. Joseph Athletic and Fitness Center.
Bethany (1-8) secured its first victory of the year and the third in program history after hitting a season-best .203 on 128 attempts for 46 kills falling just four short of tying the program single-match record. The Bison and Carlow (0-16) traded victories in the first four sets to set up a winner-take-all fifth. After the Celtics tied it up at nine in Set 5, the Green and White scored six straight to close out yet another historic program win.
"We played resilient volleyball tonight through the back-and-forth fight," comments third-year head coach
Chuck Shoemaker. "We executed when we needed. I'm proud of the finish as we build for what lies ahead."
