BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team fell to Spalding (Ky.) University by a final score of 12-7 in a non-conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
Bethany (3-2) Leaders
- Senior defender Janez Matthews (Annapolis, Md.) scored one goal for the Bison offense and added three draw controls and one ground ball
- Senior All-PAC defender Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) led the way with four goals, five draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers
- Senior Academic All-PAC goalkeeper Madison Wagoner (Morgantown, W.Va./University) made five saves including the 100th of her career with three minutes remaining in the first half
- Junior Academic All-PAC midfielder Tatum Severe (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) tied team-highs in draw controls with five, in ground balls with four, and in caused turnovers with two while also scoring two goals
- Senior Academic All-PAC defender Lexie Reid (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) added three ground balls and two caused turnovers
- Senior Academic All-PAC defenders Alena Arbogast (Morgantown, W.Va./University) and Gabby Hicks (Chinchilla, Australia) each caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls
- Junior midfielder Catharina Recabeitia (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior-Vicente Fatone) also scooped up four ground balls
Spalding (4-2) Leaders
- Senior defender Nicole Hollowell had a team-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers
- Junior goalkeeper Whitney White made 10 saves against the Green and White
- Freshman attack Harleigh Beumer led the Golden Eagles in scoring with four goals and one assist
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, March 21 as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on Chatham (Pa.) University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup at 1 p.m. on UPMC Graham Field.
