Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Ursuline

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team defeated Ursuline (Ohio) College by a final score of 7-4 in a non-conference game at the Ursuline Soccer & Lacrosse Field.

Bethany (3-1) Leaders
  • Junior midfielder Catharina Recabeitia (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior-Vicente Fatone) scored two goals with one assist for a career-high three points as she added two caused turnovers and two ground balls
  • Senior All-PAC defender Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) scored three goals and led the Bison defense once again with four caused turnovers and four ground balls with four draw controls
  • Junior Academic All-PAC midfielder Tatum Severe (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) also added two goals and an assist along with two ground balls and two draw controls
  • Senior Academic All-PAC goalkeeper Madison Wagoner (Morgantown, W.Va./University) saved three Arrow shots
  • Senior Academic All-PAC defender Alena Arbogast (Morgantown, W.Va./University) recorded two ground balls and one caused turnover
  • Senior defender Janez Matthews (Annapolis, Md.) finished with one caused turnover, one ground ball, and one draw control
  • Senior attack Grace Schweickert (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) was the final Bison to add a ground ball
  • Freshman attack Hayden Chickerell (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) forced one turnover in her first career start
Ursuline (1-4) Leaders
  • Senior defender Megan Yanke led the team with five ground balls, three caused turnovers, two goals, and one assist
  • Junior midfielder Grace Darone won six draw controls and also scored two goals with one assist
  • Freshman goalkeeper Lydia Zorn made five sives
The Bison are back in action on Friday, March 20 as they host a non-conference matchup against Spalding (Ky.) University at 4 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
