Women's Lacrosse Scraps with Grove City in Midweek Matchup

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team fell to Grove City (Pa.) College by a final score of 22-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.

Bethany (7-6, 3-3 PAC) Leaders
  • Senior attack Grace Schweickert (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) led the Green and White defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers
  • Senior defender Janez Matthews (Annapolis, Md.) had a team-high four draw controls against the Wolverines
  • Senior Academic All-PAC defender Alena Arbogast (Morgantown, W.Va./University) added two ground balls and forced one turnover
  • Senior midfielder Catharina Recabeitia (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior-Vicente Fatone) registered one of Bethany's five caused turnover and picked up a ground ball
  • Senior All-PAC defender Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won three draw controls and caused one turnover
  • Senior Academic All-PAC midfielder Lexie Reid (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) also recorded one draw control
  • Freshman attack Elaina Felter (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) also added a ground ball for the Bison
  • Senior Academic All-PAC goalkeeper Madison Wagoner (Morgantown, W.Va./University) made seven saves and picked up two ground balls wearing a new number
Grove City (12-3, 8-0 PAC) Leaders
  • Junior attack Taylor Blythe scored a game-high seven points with three goals and four assists
  • Junior midfielder Tori Stevenson led all players with six ground balls
  • Senior goalkeeper Mia Gallagher saved the only shot on goal she faced
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, April 18 as they travel to Washington, Pennsylvania to take on Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 1 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium.
