Women's Lacrosse Drops PAC Showdown Against Saint Vincent

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's lacrosse team fell to Saint Vincent (Pa.) College by a final score of 12-9 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.

Bethany (6-4, 3-2 PAC) Leaders
  • Junior Academic All-PAC midfielder and PAC Offensive Player of the Week Tatum Severe (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) notched two goals and one assist while also controlling four draws for the Bison
  • Freshman attack Hayden Chickerell (Fairmont, W.Va./Fairmont Senior) recorded her first career multi-goal game and has now scored five times in her last four games
  • Senior All-PAC defender Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won seven draw controls while also finishing with two caused turnovers, one ground ball, two goals, and one assist
  • Senior attack Grace Schweickert (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) has now assisted in six of her 10 games this season as she set up another Bison goal
  • Junior midfielder Catharina Recabeitia (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escuela Normal Superior-Vicente Fatone) led the team with three forced turnovers and added another goal
  • Junior Academic All-PAC midfielder Ally Barclay (Nashport, Ohio/Tri-Valley) added three ground balls for the Green and White defense
  • Senior defender Janez Matthews (Annapolis, Md.) did it all for the Bison with another two goals, five draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls
  • Senior Academic All-PAC goalkeeper Madison Wagoner (Morgantown, W.Va./University) saved nine Bearcat shots and picked up three ground balls
Saint Vincent (7-3, 3-2 PAC) Leaders
  • Senior attack Melanie Seefeldt had a team-high seven points with three goals and four assists
  • Graduate midfielder Chloe Herring led Saint Vincent with four ground balls and one caused turnover
  • Junior goalkeeper Cassidy Rega made four saves in goal for the Bearcats
The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, April 7 as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on Point Park (Pa.) University in a non-conference game at 12 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
