NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College women's lacrosse senior All-Presidents' Athletic Conference defender Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) has been named the PAC Midfielder of the Week for the first time in her career.

Wenger claims her third Player of the Week award this season and her first Midfielder of the Week after helping lead the Bison to their first PAC Tournament berth in program history. She opened the week by leading the team against Westminster with six ground balls while also recording one caused turnover, one draw control, and one goal. Wenger then scored a game-high six goals with two assists as the Bison took down Allegheny on Senior Day and secured their tournament spot. Against the Gators, she also tallied six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and four draw controls. 

This season, Wenger has appeared in 16 games making 14 starts where she leads the Green and White defense with 98 ground balls and 64 caused turnovers. She also leads the team in draw controls with 81 and in points with 48. Wenger has scored 34 goals with 14 assists on the year including three gamewinners and four in the free position. 

In her career, Wenger has appeared in 51 games making 48 starts where she has recorded 218 ground balls and 131 caused turnovers. She has also won 193 draw controls and has scored 70 goals, including 10 in free-position attempts, with 29 assists for 99 points. Wenger is an All-PAC honorable mention, a CSC Academic All-District selection, an Academic All-PAC honoree, and earned her previous weekly honors on February 27 of 2023, and February 23 and March 2 of 2026.

The Bison are back in action on Tuesday, April 28 as they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to take on fourth-seeded Westminster (Pa.) College in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament First Round at 6 p.m. at the UPMC Sports Complex.
