BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's volleyball team competed at the 2026 Sommer Center Spiketacular hosted by Bluffton (Ohio) University in the Sommer Center.

vs. Olivet (2-6)

• Junior Academic All-PAC right-side hitter Shayleigh Hornyak (Brilliant, Ohio/Buckeye Local) started off her big tournament with a team-high 12 kills with four digs and two block assists
• Sophomore setter Aleia Evanko (East Liverpool, Ohio/Beaver Local) notched her first double-double as a Bison with 19 assists and 11 digs
• Freshman outside hitter Molly Brown (Lancaster, Ohio/Fairfield Union) did it all for the Bison after putting up 17 digs, eight kills, four blocks, and two assists
• Sophomore outside hitter Isabella Poppelriter (Wellsville, Ohio) served up four aces and dug out 15 Comet attacks 
• Graduate middle blocker Megan Chesser (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) finished with six kills and six blocks along with two digs and an ace
• Sophomore Academic All-PAC setter Grace Padavick (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) posted a statline of seven assists, five digs, and two kills
• Sophomore Academic All-PAC outside hitter Layla Smith (Lakewood, Ohio) also tallied six kills and added two digs and a block

at Bluffton (5-4)

• Junior Academic All-PAC middle blocker Ashton Thomas (Toronto, Ohio) hit .231 on 13 attacks with six kills
• Freshman libero Annabelle Clutter (Weirton, W.Va./Steubenville) tied the team lead in aces with two
• Brown and sophomore Academic All-PAC outside hitter Analesa Perdue (Steubenville, Ohio) led the team defensively with four digs and three digs, respectively
• Evanko assisted 11 more times while Padavick added six assists
• Hornyak added five kills to the Green and White offense
• Brown totaled four kills and four digs

vs. Heidelberg (7-3)

• Senior Academic All-PAC libero Avery Askew (St. Thomas, Ontario/Parkside Collegiate Institute) and Poppelriter led the way with five digs apiece
• Hornyak secured her All-Tournament Team selection by putting down six kills and another block
• Brown contributed five kills against the Student Princes
• Evanko served up the team's only ace of the match and had 12 assists
• Thomas and Smith each recorded two blocks and two kills

The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, September 16 as they host a non-conference match against Penn State University-Beaver at 6 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court at Hummel Fieldhouse.
