BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's soccer team fell to Waynesburg (Pa.) University by a final score of 3-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
Bethany (0-6, 0-3 PAC) Leaders
- Freshman defender Veraldo Pitter (Bloomfield, Conn.) led the team with two shots on goal
- Freshman goalkeeper Carlos Monque (Miami, Fla./Archbishop Coleman Carroll) got his first career start where he made nine saves for the Bison
- Junior defender Derieck Hernandez (New Orleans, La./Kenner Discovery) and freshman defender Maynor Garcia (Gretna, La./New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy) each supplied the Green and White offense with a shot on goal
Waynesburg (3-2-2, 1-1-1 PAC) Leaders
- Senior forward Zachary Johnson tallied three shots with a goal and an assistÂ
- Junior midfielder Sarpong Kwabiah took a game-high five shots and scored one goal
- Senior goalkeeper Zach Reed made four saves for the Yellow Jackets
The Bison are back in action on Friday, September 25 as they travel to Greenville, Pennsylvania to take on Thiel (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field.Â
