WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Bethany College swimming and diving team competed against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College and Wheeling (W.Va.) University in the W&J Tri-Meet in Henry Memorial Natatorium.
Bethany (0-2, 0-1 PAC) participated in five events for their first head-to-head meet of the season where they fell to Washington & Jefferson (1-1, 1-0 PAC) by a score of 148-14 on the women's side and 161-6 in the men's events. Against Wheeling (Men's: 4-0, Women's 3-1), the Green and White fell 139-11 and 143-6 in the women's and men's events, respectively. The Cardinals went on to sweep the Presidents to win this year's Tri-Meet.
Leading the way for the Bison was sophomore
JulieAnne Humpe (Yorkville, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) who finished fourth in both 50-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley.
Humpe finished the backstroke with a time of 33.57 and the IM with a time of 2:39.66. Also competing in the 50-yard backstroke was freshman
Jailyn Cline (Bellaire, Ohio/Saint John Central Academy) where she finished fifth with a time of 50.75.
Cline also swam in the 50-yard freestyle where she timed a 40.47 to finish fifth.
Freshman
Corbin Henry (Martinsburg, W.Va.) represented the Bison in the men's events by competing in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle.
Henry recorded a time of 59.18 in the 100 and a time of 2:14.87 in the 200 to finish fifth in both events.

The Bison are back in action on Saturday, October 25 as they travel to Wheeling, West Virginia to compete against Wheeling (W.Va.) University and Chatham (Pa.) University in the Wheeling Tri-Meet at 4 p.m. in the Alma Grace McDonough Center.
