CANTON, Ohio - The Bethany College swimming and diving team competed at the 2025-26 Malone Mid-Season Invitational hosted by Malone (Ohio) University at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Bethany competed at the 15-team Invitational where the women's team sat at 13th in the team standings after two days of competition and ended the weekend at 15th with nine points. The men's team also competed but did not contribute any points towards the team scores as Gannon (Pa.) University claimed the top seed in the Invitational in both the women's and men's events with 1,552 points and 1,929.5 points respectively.
Sophomore
JulieAnne Humpe (Yorkville, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) supplied the points for the Bison after finishing third in Flight C of the 100-yard backstroke finals and 18th overall with a time of 1:04.37 improving by a second from her preliminary time of 1:05.65. She also competed in the prelims for the 200-yard backstroke where she finished 22nd with a time of 2:26.33 and the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:31.00.
The men's team was represented by freshmen
Corbin Henry (Martinsburg, W.Va.) and
Adam Kotson (Flushing, Ohio/Linsly). Both competed in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard preliminary rounds with
Henry finishing 55th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.42 and
Kotson finishing 62nd with a time of 30.93 in his first race as a Bison. In the 100-yard freestyle,
Henry clocked a time of 59.50 to earn 57th while
Kotson swam a 1:12.69 to place 62nd.
Henry also appeared in the 200-yard freestyle where he finished with his best place of the day at 41st with a time of 2:13.01.

The Bison are back in action on Saturday, December 6 as they travel to Grove City, Pennsylvania to take on Grove City (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference meet at 1 p.m. in James E. Longnecker Competition Pool.
