NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College men's golf All-Presidents' Athletic Conference junior
Jude Smith (Weirton, W.Va./Weir) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Smith wins his first Player of the Week selection after leading the Bison through two rounds of play at the Denison Spring Shootout. In Round 1, he fired a 76 (+5) with 10 pars and a birdie and followed that up with a round of 75 (+4) that included three birdies.
Smith's score of 151 (+9) on the day earned him a team-best 20th-place finish out of the 89-man field. While at the Shootout,
Smith averaged 3.75 strokes on Par-3 holes, 4.27 strokes on Par-4 holes, and just 4.5 strokes on Par-5 holes.
On the season,
Smith has appeared in 11 tournaments and 13 rounds with an average stroke score of 76.07. In his career,
Smith has appeared in 39 rounds through 31 tournaments where he has averaged 79.02 strokes per round. Last season, he placed third at the PAC Championships to earn all-conference honors. In his freshman season, he won PAC Newcomer of the Week on April 17 of 2024 and was also named 2023-24 PAC Newcomer of the Year.
The Bison are back in action on Friday, April 24 as they travel to Boardman, Ohio to compete at the PAC Spring Championships at 10:30 a.m. at Mill Creek Golf Course.
