WARREN, Ohio - The Bethany College men's golf team closed the fall season after competing in Round 2 of the 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf Fall Championships where they finished eighth at Avalon Lakes Golf Course.

The Bison wrapped up the fall schedule in Round 2 of the 2025-26 PAC Fall Championships where the team fired a score of 333 (+45) to finish eighth out of 10 teams with a two-day score of 658 (+82). Allegheny (Pa.) College took home the fall crown by shooting 300 (+12) each day for a final score of 600 (+24).  

All-PAC junior Jude Smith (Weirton, W.Va./Weir) maintained his position in eighth place by penciling in a 77 (+5) on Day 2 to total a two-day score of 152 (+8) after shooting an even 36 on the first nine holes and tallying four birdies. His eight birdies in the tournament rank second among the field while his seven pars today gave him 15 on the week. 

Junior Payton Hildebrand (Wellsburg, W.Va./Wheeling Central Catholic) improved on his Round 1 results by nine strokes finishing with a round of 79 (+7) to place him tied at 34th overall with a two-day total of 167 (+23). He earned his first birdie of the tournament on the sixth hole and led the Green and White in the Championships with 17 pars.

Freshman Jacob Bursey (Winchester, Va./James Woods) followed his Day 1 score by shooting an 88 (+16) to total 171 (+27) in the Fall Championships. His day featured five pars and an eagle on the sixth hole making him one of 12 golfers in the tournament to achieve the feat.

Freshman Ian Longo (Winchester, Va./James Woods) carded an 89 (+17) with two birdies bringing his Championships total to 168 (+24) where he currently sits tied for 36th overall.

Junior Samuel Phillips (Charleston, W.Va./Herbert Hoover) was the last Bison to compete as he brought his tournament total to 184 (+40) after shooting a 95 (+23) on the day with one birdie.

The 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships will resume in the Spring of 2026 on Friday, April 24 at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
