WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The Bethany College women's track and field team opened the outdoor season at the Tim Weaver Memorial Invitational hosted by West Liberty (W.Va.) University at the West Family Athletic Complex.
The Bison traveled right down the road to face off in their first outdoor meet of the year, where the Green and White were one of 21 teams competing in the Invitational and had four Top-5 finishes.
Fresh off an All-PAC performance at the 2025-26 conference indoor championships, junior
Madison Donelson (Lanham, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) placed third in both the 100-meter and the 200-meter dash. In the 100, she ran a qualifying time of 13.14 and then beat that time with one of 13.18 in the finals. Then in the 200,
Donelson ran a 27.89 for her second bronze of the day. She also anchored the women's 4x100 relay that finished second with a time of 53.23 alongside junior
Cierra Toland (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park), sophomore
Shaelyn Anthony (Surprise, Ariz./Shadow Ridge), and freshman
Yakira Cunningham (Columbus, Ohio/Centennial).
Anthony made her season debut at the Invitational as she also ran the 200 and clocked a 28.65 to finish seventh out of 17 runners.
Cunningham and Toland also ran the 100-meter prelims while
Cunningham ran a 30.35 in the 200 to finish 12th.
Academic All-PAC junior
Mary Tracey (Clarksburg, W.Va./Liberty) represented the Bison in the 1500-meter run as she timed a 6:54.43.
Sophomore
Marissa French (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) led the Bison throwers in the discus with a distance of 27.44 meters and also placed 16th in the shot put with a mark of 9.12. Freshman
Ariana Augustine (Claysville, Pa./McGuffey) also competed in both as she placed ninth in the shot put with a throw of 9.81 and tossed a 26.97 in the discus
Freshman
MyJanniea Baptist (Los Angeles, Calif./Lawndale) made her collegiate debut in the discus by throwing a 27.07 to place 21st overall while senior
Amelia Ferguson (Bakersfield, Calif./Highland) followed close behind with a throw of 26.71
The Bison are back in action on Friday, April 3 as they travel to Athens, Ohio to compete at the Cherry Blossom Invitational hosted by Ohio University at Goldsberry Track.
