Best Named PAC Newcomer of the Year; Garrison, Potter, and Simpson Selected to All-PAC Women's Basketball Team

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Bethany College women's basketball team has four players who earned 2025-26 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Basketball awards. Freshman guard Lindsey Best (Rayland, Ohio/Martins Ferry) was named the 2025-26 PAC Newcomer of the Year, graduate guard Lindsey Garrison (Triadelphia, W.Va./Wheeling Park) was named to the All-PAC first team, and senior forward Kaedlee Potter (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell-Midland) and sophomore guard Ella Simpson (Morgantown, W.Va./University) each earned honorable mention. 

Best becomes Bethany's first Newcomer of the Year since the 2021-22 season. In her breakout freshman season, she appeared in 25 games making 19 starts where she led the team with 79 assists. Best also scored 238 points on the year for 9.5 points per game all while shooting 44.1% with 13 three-point field goals. She recorded 132 rebounds on the year for an average of 5.2 per game and added 34 steals and seven blocks. Best won PAC Newcomer of the Week a record seven times in 2025-26 including five straight from January 12 to February 9.

Garrison earns her fourth all-conference selection and her third career spot on the All-PAC First Team. After appearing in all 27 games and making 26 starts, she led the team in scoring with 411 points for an average of 15.2 per game. Garrison shot 45.4% from the floor including a team-best 36.9% from three with 58 made three-pointers. She also shot 83.5% from the free-throw line and added 66 assists, 45 rebounds, 35 steals, and one block on the year. Earlier in the season, Garrison broke the program record for most three-point field goals in a career with her 205th and also eclipsed 1,500 career points. Garrison was also named to the 2025-26 PAC All-Tournament Team.

In her career, Garrison has appeared in 109 games, making 106 starts. She has scored 1,652 points in her career, which ranks fourth on the program's all-time scoring leaderboard, and has a lifetime average of 15.1 points per game. Garrison has also made 261 three-pointers, the most in program history, and has added 199 rebounds, 177 assists, 157 steals, and nine blocks. She is a four-time PAC Player of the Week, a three-time PAC Newcomer of the Week, a former PAC Newcomer of the year, a former D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year, and a D3hoops.com All-Region 7 selection. Off the court, Garrison is a former PAC SAAC Scholar Athlete of the Month and a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree.

Potter receives honorable mention as she earns her first career all-conference honor after appearing in 26 games and making 24 starts in 2025-26. She was third on the team with 294 points for an average of 11.3 per game and led the team in shooting with a 49.7% percentage from the floor including 10 threes. Potter was also second on the team with 166 rebounds for a 6.3 average along with 28 assists, 28 steals, and 22 blocks.

In her Bethany career, Potter has appeared in 52 games and has made 49 starts where she has scored 620 points for a lifetime average of 11.9 points per game. She has also recorded 347 career rebounds with 6.6 boards per game and has added 126 assists, 61 steals, and 38 blocks. Off the court, Potter is an Academic All-PAC honoree. 

Simpson also received honorable mention in her first season with the Green and White after appearing in all 27 games and making 19 starts. This year, she was second on the team with 333 points to average 12.3 points per game and shot 44.9% from the floor with 24 made three-pointers. Simpson also recorded 45 assists, 31 steals, and 10 blocks in her first season as a Bison.

Senior Academic All-PAC forward Kate Botti (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) was also named to the 2025-26 PAC Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Team.

The Bison finished the 2025-26 season in the PAC Tournament Semifinals with an overall record of 17-10 and an 11-5 record in the PAC.
