UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Select members of the Bethany College men's track and field team competed at the Penn State Tune-Up hosted by Penn State University where All-PAC junior
Caliyph McClinton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Neighborhood Academy) won the 60-meter dash and finished second in the 200-meter dash.
McClinton went up against some of the best, including Division I competition, but beat them with no problem after securing first overall in the 60-meter dash with a program- and personal-best time of 6.71 seconds after breaking his own program record earlier this season. The Bison star also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of.21.76 where teammate
Jason Ellman (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) placed fifth overall with a time of 22.03. Ellman also ran the 60-meter in a time of 6.99, but just missed the qualifying cutoff after finishing 11th.
Also competing in the 200-meter for the bison was freshman
Juan Colon (Lancaster, Pa.McCaskey) who finished 23rd with a time of 23.28, and also clocked a 52.39 to finish 19th in the 400-meter
The rest of the Bison are back in action on Saturday, February 21 as they travel to Ashland, Ohio to compete at the Ashland Last Chance Meet hosted by Ashland (Ohio) University at 11 a.m. in Niss Athletic Center.
