NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College softball junior All-PAC third baseman
Emma Jackson (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the first time in her career.
Jackson earns her first weekly award and the Bison's second straight after helping lead Bethany to a 9-1 record to open the season at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. Last week, she went 11-for-19 at the plate including a solo home run in the Green and White's 10-1 victory over SUNY-Potsdam.
Jackson finished with 10 RBI on the week driving in two runs in five of the team's six games and led the team going 3-for-4 against Pitt-Bradford.
In her Bethany career,
Jackson has appeared in and started 24 games. She has tallied 35 hits for a lifetime average of .515 in the Green and White that includes eight doubles and seven home runs.
Jackson has also driven in 30 RBI and has scored 14 runs.
Jackson is an All-PAC second-team selection and is an Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete.
The Bison are back in action Saturday, March 21 as they travel to Steubenville, Ohio to take on the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at the Franciscan Softball Field.
