NEW WILMINGTON, PA. - Bethany College softball sophomore right-hander Trinity Edge (Franklin, Pa.) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career.

Edge earns her first career weekly award and the Bison's sixth of the year after a career week in the circle where she went 3-0. She opened the week with a complete-game victory where she had seven strikeouts and allowed one run on four hits in Bethany's Game 1 victory over Waynesburg before throwing 1.2 innings of relief in the second game. Against Grove City, Edge pitched a nine-inning complete game - the longest of her career - where she recorded 10 punch outs and held the Wolverines to two earned runs. She then went another nine innings in the Grove City nightcap where she surrendered only one earned run and struck out eight batters for her third win of the week. Edge also led the Bison offense going 8-for-17 with one RBI coming from a game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh of Bethany's first victory over Grove City to force extra innings. 

In her first season wearing the Green and White, Edge has made 15 pitching appearances and 13 starts pitching a team-best 89 innings where she has a record of 11-2 and an earned run average of 2.75. She has allowed 35 earned runs on 96 hits and 34 walks all while striking out a team-high 81 batters. Edge has also batted .398 on the season for the Bison offense where she has 37 hits including three doubles, one triple, and three home runs and has driven in 19 RBI. She has also gone 9-for-10 on stolen base attempts and has scored 29 runs.

The Bison are back in action Wednesday, April 15 as they travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania to take on Allegheny (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at Robertson Softball Field.
